ABOUT VALLADOLID

Valladolid is the capital of Castilla y León, an historic region in the northwest of Spain. Valladolid is well reputed for the Spoken Spanish, World Class Red Wines, Baked Lamb and Castles all around. Valladolid University is the oldest in Spain (ca 1208). Most famous Valladolid inhabitants are Catholic Kings Isabella and Ferdinand, Cristopher Columbus, Miguel de Cervantes, Kings Philip II and IV, Torquemada, Zorrilla and Miguel Delibes. Valladolid is about 200 km from Madrid an can be reached from there in 2 h by car or 2 h 30 min by train (50 min by AVE by the end of 2007). Valladolid airport is connected daily with Barcelona, Paris, London and Brussels.
