UCAN-IBGM
The Unit of Chemoprevention And Neuroprotection @ IBGM

Wellcome to the UCAN & IBGM

The UCAN @ IBGM is a new basic research group headed by Carlos Villalobos and Lucía Núñez at the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics, a joint research center between The University of Valladolid and The Spanish Research Council in Valladolid, Spain.

We study Ca2+ signals involved in cell proliferation and cell death as well as the involvement of Mitochondria in these processes (learn +). In addition, we study the involvement of mitochondria as drug target in CANCER CHEMOPREVENTION and NEUROPROTECTION (learn +). We also study cell plasticity and tumorigenesis using the anterior pituitary as model (learn +).

Our research is supported by competitive grants from The Spanish Ministry of Education and Science; Institute of Health Carlos III and Regional Government of Castilla y León.
